Chiltern Valley Winery & Brewery的点评
点评：This was a gift for us and we chose to go at the end of January, and booked into the B and B for the night. It really is in the middle of nowhere, up a narrow hill for the last mile ish, but is only about 7 miles or so from Marlow/Henley.
It's not a huge place and we booked a 3pm tour, having a good hours talk and tour then another hour plus tasting. Our tour guide Victoria was excellent. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the craft and also very personable and a good story teller/orator. We enjoyed the tour and then tasted 5 different wines (usually 4 but Victoria was feeling generous) and several ales and liquers. A chunk of cheese and some crackers were also provided.
When we arrived we were able to check in early and planned to get a cup of coffee and a piece of cake from the food van which is open till 4pm but she closed early and went home. This wasn't a huge problem for us as we had stopped for a big lunch on the way and had some snacks just to nibble later ( we didn't fancy the menu at the pub recommended by the winery) but just something to be aware of if you aren't planning to go out for food in the evening or haven't eaten previously in the day. There is nowhere to get any food other than drive back out.
The room was clean and the bed comfy and so quiet and dark. excellent for a good nights sleep. Breakfast time was booked in for us at 8.45 and was fresh cooked with fresh squeezed orange juice.
We had a really enjoyable time and bought a few bottles of wine and a jar of marmalade. Not cheap but you get a small discount if you've been on a tour. We would recommend the tour and staying overnight just be aware of food options and the van potentially closing early, especially in less busy times.
