点评:We visited wildwood despite some of the negative reviews, and found it to be a wonderful day out. Wildwood is built around a Victorian walled garden and woodland area, and so has a unique character and atmosphere. We saw all the animals except the bears who were hibernating. The animals were active and engaging especially the Lynx and the Artic Fox. We had a fascinating talk from one of the keepers about their wolf pack and how they look after it. The wolves were very chilled in the background while he talked. The restaurant is in an old farm building - amazing place… coffee was good. Toilets were clean. We didn’t go in the maze which looks impressive. We enjoyed the Saxon village even though there were no activities … lots of wild birds around that were quite tame. Finished by visiting the red squirrels in the open penned area and it was great to watch them just getting on with things and ignoring us. All in all it was a very different experience that allowed us to concentrate on a few animals, see them quite close up and imagine what Britain was like when they were wild here. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. New pens being built for the otters should be good. All in the very beautiful countryside of Escot Park.
