点评:Wonderful Walney Island, Earnse Bay. Miles and miles of sandy beach. I walked along the coastline to North Walneys most Northerly point. Wonderful views in all directions. Raw and naturally beautiful. You can see the old Shipwreck way out in the sands. Apparently this is a no go area as quick sand is present.
Black Combe and the Cumbrian Fells can be seen in the distance looking all majestic. You can also see Askam, Haverigg and the Black Huts. The North Nature Reserve runs alongside the beach. Wildlife and some cattle graze, there are some huge ponds and beautiful birds habitat this gorgeous area.
On reaching the most Northerly point, I could look down Walney Channel and see Jubilee Bridge and the Slag Banks. You can return over the grassed/sand reserve which holds a lot of military history and has an art installation named 'One For Sorrow'. I returned the way I came and was gifted with a fabulous Sunset.
