Unplanned visit to PERAMA cave Ioannina

点评：This was my first visit to a cave so wasn't quite sure what to expect. It is a guided tour and once inside the doors closed and we followed the guide around the three different chambers . There are a lot of steps up and down , some had a hand rail some didn't..you need to be fit to this tour of these caves and I was glad my family stayed behind as they would have struggled. There was no warning before entering about fitness and health requirements.
The chambers are dramatic and I could imagine being in a scene of The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, or Raiders of the Ark films. I loved it. You leave the cave after climbing around 150 steps to exit to a courtyard with cafe and shop and super views over the lake of Ioannina. A walk down the path brought me back to the village of Perama and a short walk back to the main road. Thoroughly recommend this cave.
