Nestled within the confines of a row of fenestrated bars defining its boundaries, a scenic view from high storey apartment balconies in the vicinity must be riveting. At ground level, however, the gorgeous eye-catching spectacle of this skilfully sculpted natural environment is no less attractive, especially as it lures strolling pedestrians into its luscious surroundings, urging them to explore the magnificence of such an exotic location.
Indeed, wondering through this unusual site reveals a forrest of trees sweeping the skyline as they vibrantly stretch high into the air. Their chest-nut and dark brown trunks contrasting with a green-rich landscape rolling out like a carpet, racing ahead before a visitor's gaze to that point where it touches the sky in the distant horizon.
With most trees shooting upwards into lofty spaces, others like the Conifer gravitates to the ground, encircling its earthling surroundings with a decorative veil as if expressing gratitude to mother earth for the time and space it dedicated to nurturing its deeply rooted origins.
Jardin Botanique Alpin- Meyrin is a verdant and radiant garden engulfed by a procession of towering trees. It possesses an aura of glowing happiness and an entourage of floral ornaments emanating a rainbow of colours ranging from pearly-white to coral-red. It showcases endless forms of images that bring to the fore the splendour and enchantment of a world brought together in an arrangement of attractive elegance that evokes feelings of delight.
A canvas with a meticulously crafted impression of such a garden by a master virtuoso of art, would only come to life by conceding to nature's brilliance and craftsmanship, that by transforming it into a vivacious embroidery of nature could, only then, metamorphose into an oasis of tranquility implanted with scenery of raging beauty tempered with a measured artistic touch of serenity.
It is almost like this place was spun and woven with a prism through which a fountain of paint poured onto the garden's grounds covered it with a coat of green, sprinkled its elegantly pruned edges and corners with a spectra of magical colours from a generous sloshing that trickled out and through flowering plants, leaving them with streaks and dots, eventually giving in to nature's course, which proved to be a grand masterstroke.
Among the many delectable flowering plants that have grown into such exquisite elegance is the Naninda. Its delicate stems flaunting before inspecting visitors clusters of flawless, dark red cherry-like undisturbed blooms.
Arranged in pleats, the Iris takes on a neat accordion- like figure, adding a note of harmony to the surrounding's atmosphere.
Blooming Anemones, in an act of openness, spread out their pinkish-white petals amid an offspring of buds.
The Eucomis, studded with a constellation of creamy star shaped flowers, dotted with violet, fanning out from a sea-green stem stands eminently among its sister species, basking in the sun with an amusing tropical hat.

It is humanity's third lung that rids the environment of carbon dioxide and captures sunlight in a process of photosynthesis. In the midst of breathtaking scenes, scents and fragrances blend with gently flowing air turning it into gusts of soothing breezes.
I came across this fine piece of art by sheer coincidence when, one day i decided to explore the surroundings of NH Geneva Airport Hotel, which is where i had checked in when i first arrived in Geneva. Randomly walking along, i noticed from afar an open gate carrying a sign. Curiosity got the best out of me, so i began to beat a hasty path towards it. The sign read Jardin botanique alpin. Stepping into the entrance, i couldn't help sensing a hypnotic wave of welcome radiating from a vast and open field. It is no exaggeration to say that i became overridden with the thought that it was impossible to put off until another day the task of exploring this area of greenery . The reason i believe is the prominent aesthetic dimensions that amplify and bolster this location's scenic value. Value that reciprocates to the picturesque quality of its topographical design. In such a setting exploring Jardin botanique alpin becomes an almost eternal yet enjoyable journey.
The fact that there were no pre-planned intentions to visit this carved out beauty makes it a cherished and most memorable experience. What any visitor sees here will, i am sure, remain deeply etched in the collective mind of our species known as homo-sapiens.
I conclude that this is a must see!
Easiest way to get there: get on tram no. 14 or 18 in the direction of CERN and get off at Jardin alpin vivarium, which will show on the sign board inside the tram.
I truly believe the visit, which is free and open to all, will be unforgettable.
