Waterville Valley Resort - Ski Area的点评
点评：My 50th ski area in the Northeast ! We got passes for attending a travel show at MGM Springfield and saved today’s ticket price of $139.
Yesterday was very warm so I knew the refereeze meant crust. They groomed yesterday, which means corduroy crust. The few people and cool temperatures took awhile to loosen it up to be enjoyable.
The over 2,000 feet of vertical is achieved by taking an 8 minute, over a mile long ride on a 6 passenger bubble chair for 1,600 feet of gain, followed by a T bar to the summit. The skies were blue and the air was dry so visibility was unlimited. I was surprised at how many bubbles were broken, gaping holes or taped patches on at least half of the 83 chairs.
This was the first time I used an outdoor rack to store my bag while I skied. My lunch was cold, but so were my sneakers when I went to leave.
I did 17 runs with over 20,000 feet vertical between 9am and 1pm, with a rest at the summit lodge in the sunshine and a lunch in the base lodge after the first 9 runs. It was 155 miles and two hours and 40 minutes traveling. I still have another pass left….
