Quiet, beautiful and secluded
Masoala National Park的点评
点评：Masoala National Park was the best part of our African adventure. Lauriot from visit.masoala@gmail.com made all arrangements to let us experience the different flavours of Maoantsetra. With perfect English he introduced us to this part of Madagascar.
Starting out from a simple beach hut with the sound of waves crashing few metres away, continuing with days at the proud Manga Beach, a Hotel from the colonial era enjoying a view over the river to settling at a wonderful lodge at the ocean a short walk from the park. There we stayed several days took in the local atmosphere, the market, playing soccer with the kids at the school nearby, the American researchers with kids eager for English speaking company, a hike to a secluded beach with our new friend, Herbert, a big dog who chose to spend the day with us and guard the kids in the water. Our guide found different kinds of lemurs and introduced us to the animals and plants of the rain forest. We also spent one night on the island Nosy Mangabe and experienced absolute darkness, the star-spangled sky of an island with no electricity accompanied by the sound of curious animals outside our tent in the night. Lauriot provided us with a private cook who made sure to vary local vegetables with wonderful dishes for the carnivores, the pescetar and the vegetarian.
Lauriot and our guide Serge who mostly spoke French, took care of everything and though their job was done and the trip officially, over they insisted on waiting at our flight (flying once a week) at the local airport. When the flight was postponed Lauriot stepped up and took us back to Maontsetra giving us the choice of going back to Hotel Manga Beach or a modern resort with resort. We preferred an extra night at our old hotel.
All in all we had a wonderful trip, almost an adventure.
