Once a Beautiful Woodland – Now Left in a Sorry State

点评：I’ve been visiting Hughenden for years, and it’s heartbreaking to see what’s become of parts of the woodland. Tree felling has been going on for over a year now, and while I appreciate that some trees may have been diseased and there may be long-term ecological aims, the current state is frankly depressing.
The pathways themselves are clear, which is appreciated, but the surrounding areas are strewn with cut branches, stumps, and debris. What was once a beautiful, tranquil space now feels uncared for and messy. I’m sure the National Trust would say the piles are good for biodiversity—but for visitors, it looks and feels more like neglect than nature conservation.
Hughenden deserves better. It wouldn’t take much to show a bit more care and pride in how these areas are left. This was once a magical woodland walk. Right now, it feels more like a dumping ground.
