Visit ruined by over zealous, intrusive volunteer

点评：The house is actually rather dull and uninteresting with not that much to look at. We arrived with about an hour or so remaining of the site opening time after a long day driving and this and that and thought we would cram in Hughenden whilst passing through Wycombe back up to the north so did not have much time.
On arrival at the house we were greeted by a friendly volunteer who introduced a brief synopsis of the history of the place, which is helpful and happens at many NT properties. Not a problem.
However, we were then rudely and intrusively 'preyed upon' by an over zealous gentleman room guide who began giving us information we had not wanted, nor asked for. He banged on about portraits we were not the slightest bit interested in and waxed lyrical about other objects - which we just wanted to look at BY OURSELVES!
This happened in about 3 rooms and completely ruined our visit. I am also autistic and do not like being accosted and forcibly engaged in communication. It is not inclusive, it is rude and intrusive and NT really need to start getting a grip of some of their overbearing room guides because I for one and getting sick to death of some of them destroying the enjoyment of our visits.
The grounds and gardens are lovely. The house, other than the entrance is rather drab.
One of the more forgettable NT properties, even allowing for the provenance and Disraeli connection.
