点评：Marie Jo made our visit to Chabli so easy and enjoyable. After booking online, she shared advice for our hotel and dinner reservations - both of which were excellent. We provided our train details from Paris to Auxerre, and Marie Jo picked us up at the station and drove us the short distance to Chabli. We enjoyed the evening on our own in the lovely and walkable little town of Chabli. In the morning, Marie Jo met us at the hotel and off we went for our full-day private wine tasting tour. At the end of the tour, she returned us to the Auxerre train station with a slight detour so that we could go past the beautiful church on our way!
Our tour started on a picturesque hillside surrounded by vineyards. Marie Jo comes from a winemaking family, and she knew all about the area’s history, growing, and wine production processes. We visited several wineries, a small museum, and the local wine consortium shop for a tasting. Mid-day Marie Jo recommended a lunch location and dropped us off to enjoy at our leisure. After lunch, more wine tasting including a stop in a cave, a historic cellar, and for some sampling just outside of Chabli. I think we learned more, received better access, and more tastings than if we would have organized winery visits ourselves. Plus, no purchasing pressure. We took many photos of the scenery (it was April so only early stages of vine budding), wine barrels, etc. I’m thankful that there was no need to navigate and drive - just enjoy the vineyard views and conversation as Marie Jo expertly navigated to each destination while pointing out interesting things along the way.
I strongly recommend booking your tour with Marie Jo. If you have particular interests or time constraints, just email her before or after you reserve your tour online. Marie Jo was very fast to respond to any question we sent her. You will not regret booking a tour with Vititours!
