The tram takes you to the top in 2 stages, up to breathtaking Welsh views. It's a fun thing to do, especially for children as they enjoy a train/tram ride. The tram team clearly enjoy their job, as they are all very happy and friendly.
You can walk up if you're the athletic type. But why waste a chance to take the alternative route, which really was an inexpensive bit of fun, and if you catch the tram on a sunny day, the views will not fail to please.
It's very popular, so be prepared to queue. But that's never a problem, as you can chat with people from all over the world, which helps to pass the time.
I'm not sure if they're connected, but I have one small critism which is when you visit the cafe at the top. It's clean with nice spacious indoor and outdoor areas, but a smile from the cafe staff wouldn't go amiss. It's a long trek to the top, and people do not want to be met by a team who appear to dislike their job immensely. Greet your patrons with a smile, and appreciate your surroundings guys. I'd love to have the same view you have outside my place of work. That's enough to make anyone smile all day long 😃
