点评：Many years ago, growing up and visiting Blackpool, the Tower was always the highlight of the visit. You paid to enter, then just wandered around, played the amusements, had a drink and a dance in the ballroom, visited the aquarium, took the lift to the top of the tower. It was a free and easy place to be, you came and went freely, the kids played in Jungle Jims soft play.
Compare that to today. The Aquarium is gone, Jungle Jim's is gone, entry is at controlled times and via controlled and marshalled routes to get to the attraction you've paid for. Every attraction has a different price, a scheduled entry time, and flow control to make sure people enter and leave when they should. The staff are stressed, and at times some of them can be very curt.
Merlin entertainments who run the tower have managed to strip all of the joy and pleasure from what used to be a favourite attraction and turn it into a dull, joyless experience of queuing and being herded like sheep through what used to be a beautiful building, which visitors can no longer just enjoy, the lovely stairways and passage ways are largely blocked by security guards and treated just as a defined path to get customers through the building in the most controlled way.
