点评:Decided to take a friend, who's interested in the era of Napolean, the Peninsula War and especially the 95th Rifles etc, to the museum. Wasn't sure what to expect, but from the moment we arrived it was worth it. Met by Ken and Roger, two ex-Rifles themselves who now volunteer and were wonderful, sharing their own stories/experiences, we spent approx. 3 1/2 hours wandering round, taking it all in, reading everything, admiring the numerous VC's and other medals on display, watching the short demo of the Battle of Waterloo on the huge diorama and enjoying occasional interludes from Roger. It's also worth walking the grounds of the old Winchester barracks, just to imagine the soldiers on the parade ground and you can feel the history. Thanks again to Ken and Roger for the added anecdotes and humour. A most enjoyable visit.
