点评：This place is usually one of my favourite places to return to and we’ve been coming here for years. It’s where I get all of my David Austin roses from. I remember back in the days when prices were reasonable to enter the gardens (£5-6 for the garden and about £11 for house and garden) Now the prices are ridiculous, gouging people on the gift aid which charges something like £24.50 vs £22 per adult for admission. Luckily we have our NT cards which only costs us under £9 a month. The older lady at the desk when we walked in was most unfriendly. Did not greet us with a smile. Later just before closing as I walked into the gift shop carrying a plant I was about to buy, I saw her approaching, she stopped and gave me a once over, looking me up and down very rudely. National Trust shouldn’t have people like her, who look like old gossips, working there, whether volunteers or not. It put a bad taste in my mouth and though we had planned to return next weekend, decided not to based off that experience. Also, they were a bit too eager to close up shop before 5 and locking doors and gates to make sure everyone else was out. When I got back to the car and looked at the time there was still 10 minutes to go before 5. I also heard them saying as I walked out the door that I was the last one in a celebratory way. Really, these people working there are doing a disservice to your very expensive avenue.
