点评：Came here for a few pints with my employer including regular customers from The Pen Y Cae Inn and The Ancient Briton after our Brewery tour of Grey Trees new premises in Robertston.
Despite The National Tap being so busy we had a very warm welcome from the entire team of bar staff who served us including the regular customers there. Although it doesn't serve food Ray the Head Brewer of Grey Trees Brewery wife Tracy Davies took the time to serve us a beautifully prepared Cheese Platter 🧀 which also included Ray's Home made Pork Pies 🥧 made from watercrust pastry with pork sausage meat that was added with a pigs trotters jelly. In all the pork pies I've had over the years from different bakeries including supermarkets Ray's ones are the tastiest but finest ones I've ever he makes the best ones in South Wales. As for the cheese platter that was delicious but very tasty with different styles of bread including salami, homous and Onion Marmelade including crackers lovely and filling. Paired nicely with a pint of one of their cask ales 🍺 Drummer Boy perfect accompaniment in my opinion to go with that platter.
As well as Grey Trees Brewery cask ales including their draught beer this bar also serves craft beers on draught from other breweries so for those of you who are CAMRA members like myself or are just into craft beers you'll be sure not to be disappointed. They'll also if you're not sure what to have as a beverages provide with flight board samples of the different beers they have on both cask including draught.
This was my second visit to this bar and is one I do highly recommend you go to for a drink in Aberdare including during any sporting event that's shown on the television. The staff here are very helpful, attentive, and friendly always very happy to help you apon entering the premises. Service with a smile from all who came with me here on the 15/06/23.
