Nice house with interesting history….

点评：We decided to visit Ironbridge this week and it suddenly occurred to us that there was a NT property nearby. It came up on the website as just 1 mile from us but that must be via helicopter !. The route by road took us through the lovely village of Broseley, still less than 3 miles.
The house is accessed down a fairly potholed drive so take care. Parking is good and there is a snack van there although prices are in line with Ironbridge prices - £2.50 for a can of coke.
To access the house you walk past the church which is really nice and atmospheric. The house itself isn’t exactly huge, but what is there is very good. It has an association with Judi Dench which is explained through exhibits and was also used for evacuees during WW2. Since it is also still a private home, only certain rooms are open and the rear courtyard is partly roped off. The small garden is well tended and obscures the toilets !.
Not the largest NT property, but nice for a quick visit.
