点评：My first experience with Louie (the owner of The Desert Hiking Company) was 10 years ago when he was a young guide working for another company. It was a 6 day/5 night backpacking trip through Yellowstone National Park. It rained for four straight days! Louie was responsible for the safety and wellbeing of seven people on this journey. Instead of it being a miserable experience, it became one of those adventures you remember forever (though you wouldn’t want to do it again!). In large part, this was due to Louie’s knowledge, positivity, and leadership (not to mention a decent sense of humor, ha).
From that point forward, I decided Louie was my guide! As owner of The Desert Hiking Company, he’s now led me and friends and/or family members on three trips into the Grand Canyon, one into The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and one to Chaco Culture National Historical Park. The shared memories we have from these trips will last a lifetime.
The great thing about Louie and his company is that they are adept at creating adventures that are flexible to the demands and desires of private groups with varying skill levels, goals, and expectations. And the food is always delicious!
You can be sure that all The Desert Hiking Company’s guides share Louie’s values and commitment to excellence! I recommend this company highly.
