Middleton Railway的点评
点评：Full marks for having a well equipped toilet just inside the entrance. Having had a long drive with many delays, desperation was beginning to set in. We had pre-booked the tickets and the gentleman at the counter was very helpful, explaining everything. It has to be said that all the staff are volunteers and they are a credit to the railway. It is an amazing achievement that the oldest railway in the world is still running.
They have a splendid collection of tank engines, all in pristine condition and made in Leeds. In fact, it is a testament to the quality, engine building capacity that the Leeds works had. They built engines which were exported all around the world and there are still a great number of them continuing to work. The line is quite short but still worth making the effort and you can go up and down as many times as you like. The wooden carriages are in excellent condition.
There is a small cafe selling drinks and snacks and a gift shop. Prices are very reasonable, so pop along and give this fine institution a go. Long may it continue to thrive.
