点评:Upon arriving with my husband and 2 children under the age of 5 years old, the gentleman at the desk was extremely friendly and told us we'd been upgraded to the VIP area. Absolutely great. We got to lane 30, set up our game and looking at the menu for drinks to order, we pressed the service call as we were paying by cash. Whilst we waited, we commenced our game at 5:35pm (got on our lane at 5:30pm).
We were playing at an okay pace, a few toilet breaks for the kids and the sweet machines scattered around and obviously the kids stopping to drink their slush puppies and milkshakes and I, my mojito (£20 round of drinks may I add!)
At 5:55pm, my husband took the children to grab some more sweets from the 20p machines with their change they had. Upon returning, a member of staff approached us and informed us we were going too slow. This was 20 minutes into play. My husband informed her that the children wanted sweets. I then took my daughter to the toilet and at 5:58pm and another member of staff approached my husband and said we were going far too slow and that there was another family waiting for our lane. We called the manager over and continued our game.
The manager had no sympathy for us as a family with two young children and gave us 10 minutes extra time.
I personally feel like the timings you provide are not adequate to enjoy some family time with very young children. You are setting families up to fail. 40 minutes from the time you get on your lane, to the time you must be finished. 40 minutes for 4 people, with 10 rounds of bowling. That is 1 minute to bowl per person, consecutively, without a break, a toilet stop, pulling the kids ramp in and out and even getting our coats on and off. God forbid we had ordered some snacks to share on the lane too because we apparently are not allowed to come up from air in line with the FAQ’s on the website.
When the manager approached us, it was 6:05pm (30 minutes into play with only 5 minutes left she said) and she told us she would add on wan extra 10 minutes as a courtesy. We still had 4 rounds of bowling. That would have given us 2.5 minutes per round as a family which equates to 37 seconds per person to play and that included us finishing our drinks and getting our coats on to leave.
I just feel like I'm constantly receiving promotional emails from your facility encouraging family time with very young children and when we got there, it was nothing but rushed and not enjoyable in the slightest. 40 minutes is NOT enough time for children of that age. 40 minutes would have been enough just for me and my husband, but you have not catered for families AT ALL.
I have emailed a complaint to be told it’s not likely to change and 40 minutes is ample time for a family of four to bowl.
This is not a relaxing, family friendly, activity. DO NOT waste your money. You are harassed by staff to get a move on. Didn’t even get a final score board photo as it was wiped clean immediately upon finishing the game so the other family could hop on. That’s how rushed it was!
