点评:It was the day of the temperature inversion in May, and cloudy, but fortunately cloud base high enough at 3,000 feet, so still all good for my flight experience in P51 Mustang 'Jersey Jerk'.
I'd love to effectively describe the experience to you, but I realise it's not truly possible....it's indefinable...so....you'll have to experience it for yourself really! All I can say is, if you are interested in 'planes and the idea of flying in one of such pedigree appeals, then I can only encourage you to do so, if it lies within your means.
I had the opportunity to take control of pitch and roll controls several times during the flight and was able to practise some fairly steep banking turns and some straight and level to add to my meagre experience of a few previous flying lessons in a Cessna, and that was totally amazing, and potentially addictive.
It was a great experience overall and for this I must thank ground staff Amanda and Danny for being so welcoming and professional, and, of course, to the great skill and experience of my pilot Stu Goldspink, who also made the act of my taking partial primary controls as being quite natural and nothing out of the ordinary, which made for a great, even if brief, learning experience. Stu carried out numerous manoeuvres and aerobatics as requested, including a couple of 4-point rolls, and a brace of very tight 60 degree banking turns.
