Lovely Walks Abound in a Charming Little Village

点评：Nunney Castle is an interesting little place that in of itself is a tiny little slice of tourism. There's not a lot to the castle itself - basically one keep, and at the moment nobody can access it as the bridge is closed off due to lack of funding, but you can admire it from across the moat.
But apart from some gorgeous scenery, that's it for the actual Castle. Unless you want to sit outside it on the seat and let time pass by, it's maybe 15 minutes max before you'd move on, as without being able to cross the bridge there's nothing much to actually do.
No, the charm of Nunney Castle is the amazing and stunning scenery around. Blessed with a charming surrounding village with one of the best village cafes we've seen in a while, Nunney as a location is honeycombed with some great walking trails that are simple to moderate and show some of the best West Country countryside you can find. Added with friendly fellow amblers and the aforementioned cafe, Nunney is a peaceful day out.
The Castle by itself isn't enough to be a main event by itself so don't just come for that alone but come for an extended walk with the Castle as the cherry on the cake and it's more than worth it. We'll definitely be coming back.
