The Tepees的点评
点评：During our March 2022 visit to Petrified Forest National Park, I almost made one of the biggest errors when on a road trip – sometimes when you are driving from one destination to another, you are so intent on reaching that location that you end up missing interesting things along the way. Such was the case when we were driving south along the 29-mile Park Road, nearing the end of the Painted Desert portion of the park and headed with great purpose toward the Petrified Forest section. Fortunately, as we neared the Tepees formation, my wife (a retired professional photographer) said, “Wait, wait – pull over!” I’m glad she did.
The Tepees are one of more iconic formations in the park, standing majestically alongside the main park road. There is a roadside pull-out that has an interpretive sign. The point is to invest a couple minutes to take time to take in this sight, reflecting on how fortunate you are to be surrounded by such remarkable beauty, and create a life-long memory – that’s definitely worth taking a little longer to reach your intended destination.
