点评：This was our first trip to this part of the Eastern Cape Province and we had always wanted to visit Graaff-Reinet and the Camdeboo National Park. We spent 2 nights at the SANParks Tented Camp within the park which provided us with the opportunity to explore both sections of the park. The accommodation was spotless as were the communal ablutions and kitchen area.
The Tents are well spaced so as to avoid overcrowding and the Campsite is within easy walking distance of the Tented Camp. The lake around which the Camdeboo National Park and the town of Graaff-Reinet is situated is also a great attraction with many water bird species being identified. The town of Graaff-Reinet contains much history and it is worth visiting the large church in the centre of town and some of the other historical buildings.
The Valley of Desolation contains some incredible rock formations with the views over the town and surrounding countryside really breathtaking. The short trails near the view site are well worth undertaking and contain some very unique plant species which are not seen at the lower altitudes.
A visit to the Camdeboo National Park is highly recommended.
