Do NOT buy lessons at Mt. Baldy!!! Do NOT buy lessons at Mt. Baldy!!!
I strongly advise against purchasing ski or snowboard lessons at Mt. Baldy. Their so-called "open-house-style format lesson" is nothing more than a way to sell more lessons than their coaching staff can handle.
Major issues:
No designated learning area - Beginners are left to learn in open skier traffic, making it unsafe and chaotic.
No moving sidewalk for beginners - Both instructors and students must walk back up the slope repeatedly, making the learning process frustrating and inefficient.
No structured or organized lesson - With only two instructors responsible for nearly 30 students, there was no way for learners to receive adequate attention or progress effectively.
Without sufficient coaching staff and proper infrastructure, this lesson format is a scam.
I left after realizing how poorly run the lessons were, and I would never recommend this resort for learning to ski or snowboard. Save your money and go somewhere that actually supports beginners.
