约克城堡博物馆的点评
点评：I visited as part of a group of six adults, three with physical disabilities including two wheelchair users. I was so impressed with the support and information that I received through the reservation process, and upon arrival. Staff were attentive to all the group members throughout the visit. We all had a wonderful time, the museum is well laid out, informative and visually engaging and I loved the Victorian street and the prison in particular. I enjoyed the opportunity to buy actual sweets in the Victorian sweet shop.
In terms of access there is one gallery that is not wheelchair accessible as the only entry and exit is via stairs due to the building being listed. Cells in the prison have very tight entrances and so are not accessible to everyone. We were told this information in advance of the visit. This is reflected at the time of writing in discounted disabled tickets, carer tickets at no cost and other forms of concessionary tickets ( see website)
On site there is a spacious cafe, gift shop and clean and accessible toilet facilities. Overall I highly recommend this experience.
