My three kids haven’t been skiing in a long time. We never have to chance or money to make it to the big resorts and they are beginners…. To spend all that money for them to stay on the bunny slope seems like a wasted effort.
We on a whim to brighten our vacation decided to go to BIG SNOW. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by Rob that gave us the lay of the land and how the park works. Then we moved over to the demo area cause we needed wrist guards and Pricilla was more than helpful even going out of her was to answer our questions.
The line was long…. It was a a holiday weekend to be expected. It moved fast and everyone was pleasant to boot. Loved being able to rent the entire kit a caboodle for my two kids that did not have gear. Pants, jacket, boots, helmets, skis/snowboard. The only thing we brought were gloves( if you forget I think you can buy them there) . It was pretty easy to get all the equipment.
The park area was powder! The two of mine were beginners started on the bunny slope. The other hoped right on the lift and sailed down saying he loved the ride down. Even with the crowds they managed to keep the flow manageable. The traffic was not that different from a resort 3 hours away. By the end of our stay my 10 yr and 14 year old graduated to the lift. So proud of them cause they felt comfortable with the staff along the way helping everyone out.
One difference was how incredibly nice all the staff was, polite and helpful.
Great place to learn and to brush up your skills. My oldest is planning to get to the level that he can master the terrain park. This place definitely will be our go to place from now on. Even if we out grow it. It’s so close to get to from Long Island. We have the multi pass now (six visits-good for a year) and plan on going back frequently.
