Tricky to find, this will help
Rivington Terraced Gardens的点评
点评：Nothing to add beyond what others have said, but we really struggled to find it, so I want to make that clearer.
After the SatNav took us to a caravan park and then a farm, then we pulled into a random car park to ask for help. Ridiculous lack of road signs.
So, aim for Rivington Hall Barn, the wedding venue, and the driveway is essentially the car park for the Terraced Gardens. Then you park down the end, away from the road and walk into the greenery towards the top path, which will bring you to Entrance 7 on the map photo.
Before that, however, I strongly suggest that you park at the Visitor Centre to use the public toilets (visible from the road). This is opposite the long driveway, or behind the cafe next door (where the wingmirror is on the first photo).
If we had had this information at the beginning, we would have enjoyed the morning much more.
The gardens themselves were lovely, of course, but some more signs would have been useful. We were playing it by ear.
I love the variety of terrains - wide flat paths, rocky tracks, rocks to navigate across, steps. It was so beautiful and most people seemed to know exactly where they were going, whereas we had to rely on an app to track our route, to ensure we found our way back to the car.
Now we have been and know where to go, we will likely come again. But it could just do with a bit more maintenance, to make it more accessible, maybe a £1 charge to come in and use the money to put some more maps or signs
For first timers or those like myself whose walk was cut short by their bladder!
