Heat, Lines, and the Gods: A Parthenon Experience Guide
帕台农神庙（巴特农神庙）的点评
点评：It feels almost … unworthy to write a review of the Parthenon, this temple to the Gods that has stood here for almost 2500 years. So I will review the experience.
Make sure you book timed entry tickets ahead of time from the official website (I saw visiting hopefuls turned away from having bought third party tickets). I would suggest getting the earliest access (08-09) because of the heat and showing up at least 20 minutes ahead of time, preferably at the South Gate due to shorter lines.
Speaking of lines, confusion reigns. It’s not closer which line is for pre-times tickets and which is to buy tickets. My wife walked past the entire line to ask a member of staff and was promptly waved through. She came back to get us but I’m not sure this was the proper way through. It looked like the line for tickets on site was quite short and you would then immediately go through the turnstile…? Your mileage may vary.
Once through the gates, head up immediately as quickly as your legs and cardio will allow. You can catch all the other ruins on your way back down. When you reach the top, give yourself time to marvel at these ancient monuments and to really try to imagine would life would’ve been like here in the time of Aristotle. It’s not difficult.
Bring a wide brimmed hat, plenty of water and sunscreen as shade is minimal. When you do find it, rest a little before heading to the next monument.
Don’t miss the Acropolis museum at the bottom of the hill. I don’t like museums but this one is amazing and will put what you’ve seen into context in a novel way.
