点评:We came to the Palacio Nacional de Queluz on our first day in Lisbon as it was top on our sightseeing list. Queluz, also called the mini Versailles, was built as a summer palace in 1747-52 by Prince Pedro, who later turned it into a permanent palace before the Royal family fled to Brazil.
The palace was massive & there was so much to see... such as the 2 massive & beautiful gardens (Hanging garden & Malta garden), the magnificent Ambassador's room, the dome ceiling Throne room, the Music room...etc. However, what impressed us the most was the design of the building itself. The facade, pillars, balustrades, doors, windows...etc. everything was so elegant & beautiful.
Surprisingly, the Palace was empty like a desert as we almost had the whole place by ourselves. Queluz Palace is definitely the most underrated & overlooked tourist destination in Lisbon. It's definitely worth a visit when you're in Lisbon.
(We took the train to Queluz station & then walked 15 minutes to get there. However, it didn't look safe outside the Queluz station & therefore, we will recommend visitors to consider taking a taxi or Uber to get there)
