点评:My friend and I visited Toucan Rescue Ranch at the end of a very wildlife focused 14 day trip around the pacific coast, and it was one of the highlights for us. Knowing that there are kind people out there doing their best to right the wrongs of our fellow humans and trying to put animals back into the wild where they belong in a responsible way is such a relief, though some animal's are too badly injured or socialised with humans to ever be released and it is these animals that we were lucky enough to meet.
These tourist visits help to fund the care and housing of the sanctuary animals, who would other wise have nowhere to go, and the rehabilitation of those who do have the potential of a future in the wild.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and with the help of an educational video at the beginning and end of the visit, we left feeling totally informed about the animals in their care, their species (especially facts about sloths we never knew), the trials tribulations they encounter and how we can help. We really felt like we were most welcome and wanted at the sanctuary, although I'm sure they could've been made busy behind the scenes with the poorly patients.
To top it all off the coffee & pastries were yummy - although they ran out of powdered milk so I had my first ever try of black coffee - just added to the experience! :-D
Thank you so much to all of the staff & animals at TRR
