点评：On the edge of the cliff behind the Ancient Theater of Taormina, you get an amazing view of Isola Bella or the "beautiful little island." Looking from above, the turquoise waters of the Sicilian coastline are stunning, and you will see a lot of photos of it promoting the Taormina area. It looks like a place you would want to explore or maybe just lay out on the beach and take in the atmosphere. To get to the little island, you can either take the cable car or climb a steep flight of steps, then walk down the narrow strip of sand that connects the island to Taormina. You also get to explore the island if you take one of the boat tours out of Taormina. Unfortunately, we were on a tight schedule (a cruise stop in Messina) and didn't have time to go down and check it out. Or, maybe that might have been a good thing since many of the travel post suggest you should just stick to the viewpoint and see it from above. It is reportedly crowded, very rocky, too shallow to swim in, and very trashy and unkept. (PaM)
