BEST EXCURSION EVER!!!

点评：OMGosh! Where to start? The Ranch is like entering heaven; it’s so lusciously green and the air smells so clean…until you get closer to the massive grill, then the yummy scents coming off it makes your mouth water!
Natalie, a third generation family member and her associates were all incredibly charming and self deprecating. They gave us drinks: beer, wines, juices and water to start and showed us to the bathrooms before we left on a ranch tour. ..Starting with a view of the river. Normally they have approximately 30 feet of private beach, but not when we visited. The winds made the beach disappear but the views from there were sublime. From there we saw a portion of their beef steers, the summer crops, wind turbines and all the various trees imported and planted by past generations... before enjoying fresh water from their own deep aquifer, seeing their Model A in action and their antique water pump that still works. Then, we were off to lunch. A Fabulous outdoor BBQ, with an excellent variety of meats, grilled vegetables, salads, desserts and more drinks to help ourselves to…We sat in a covered area with tables and chairs. While waiting for the food, we enjoyed visiting the diary cows and horses, riding in an old fashion buggy or checking out the gorgeous handmade crafts made by the women’s cooperative. During lunch we were wonderfully entertained by the young, darlingly talented tango dancers who totally charmed us. Afterwards, some went to milk a cow while some of us went off with Natalie and her assistant to learn more about the ranch’s horses…including a beautiful Arabian. Mostly their working horses were Criollos, that were similar in size and confirmation to USA quarter horses or mustangs. I so wanted to try out their particular type of saddle. It looked far more comfortable than our Western ones for both the horse and rider.
Before leaving we were treated to coffee, more drinks and their delightful dulce de leche cookies. We all decided it was one of our BEST EXCURSIONS EVER!!!
