Dubai Fountain Closed - scheduled dates May 25 to Oct 25

点评：The Dubai Fountain is closed for renovations May 25 - Oct 25.
We booked a one-night stopover, to break up our Lon-Syd flights, and paid extra for a Burj / Fountain View for our 24H Dubai experience - see photos! Neither our travel agent 'Luxury' Escapes, nor The Ramada Downtown gave any advance notice of works, and their websites made no reference to works.
If you have previously visited the Dubai Fountain, you'll be aware of how fabulous the display is - there is now hoarding erected from one end to the other, impacting restaurants and the whole vibe of the place. It's dead, there is zero atmosphere or activity.
Accommodation Tip - check on their facilities, the Ramada Downtown had decided it was a good time to do maintenance on their pool - it was also closed. Their 'alternate' pool offering was most definitely not an option.
Accommodation Tip #2 - The Sofitel Downtown is a great option, we relocated!
