点评:I have never felt so unsafe. I’d heard that the lower gardens were a no go area at night but walking through at 5pm in bright sunshine I didn’t think would unnerve me.
To start with the gardens are lovely. Until this trip I had regularly walked through them without a care. They were a nice route through to the town centre/beach.
This trip my friend, her child and I were walking back through and firstly were approached by a homeless man looking for change. We politely said no and he asked again. We then realised he was fixated on the phone in my friends back pocket. She moved the phone and I placed my handbag over my body.
We carried on walking and attracted the attention of some troublesome looking women who were clearly on something. We carried on walking then heard footsteps fast approaching behind us. They ran up behind us and then began walking either side of us and close. We turned round and quickly walked the other way and headed for a bench with a couple on it. They followed us and stood very close, again either side of us. I mentioned finding Daddy to my friends child at which point they turned to each other and said ‘this one isn’t going to work out’ and left.
Needless to say we got out of there as quick as we could.
Maybe this is a one off but keep your wits about you.
