Cortijo el Chenil Caballos的点评
点评：Two horsey gals needing a break after the british winter. We were not disappointed with the location, accommodation and beautiful out riding on our two well behaved steeds, Ray and Poppy.
Darren was good fun, and very caring towards his 8 horses and Dave the mule who has a big personality. We wish Mia all the best with her new life in Spain joining the family business. Sarah was very helpful with local knowledge and could arrange taxis when needed ,served a yummy breakfast in the hills on our picnic ride and a delicious paella in the evening.
Evenings were relaxed on the patio around the pool, watching the sun set behind the mountains with a glass of wine and stroking one of the many sweet rescue dogs they have taken on.
Our only negative and this isnt really the owners fault as we used an agent to book through is that there is no public transport links near by. Usually i would hire a car however we were lead to believe that there were some buses and seeing as we thought 2 days would be riding why fork out for a car. As it happened we actually had quite a bit of spare time so did go off to the town of casarabonela (thanks Darren for the lift) , a rather pricey taxi ride to mijas pueblo but pretty town with boutique craft shops and a taxi to the train station in pizarra so we could go to malaga for the day. The train was super easy and only cost 3.50 each one way. Malaga was a nice day out, loads of food places, impressive cathedral, castillo, picasso museum and shopping.
Our 4night stay was just the break we needed and Sarah, Darren, Mia and Alfie should be very proud of what they've achieved after the dreaded C hit the tourist trade. We think the vision they have for Cortijo el Chenil is exciting and we look forward to seeing it progress in the next few years.
