点评:The building and history was amazing; sadly the guided tour was not. Entry was disorganized and confusing, and the audio headsets given out seem to be 1970s technology. The one I received had a nearly dead battery and the guy sneered at me when I asked for a new one - telling me very condescendingly to not turn it on until the tour started (glad I did or I wouldn’t have realized the battery was almost dead). Anyhow; the tour guide herself was fine but it was so so crowded and even with the headset (which has the most uncomfortable ear piece ever) you could barely hear her as her voice cracked in and out like on an old walkie-talkie. I can’t say I learned anything new from the guided tour but I followed the guide from room to room, which I guess counts for something. I think I’d have had a better experience had I just done a self guided tour though so I could have played the audio guide at my own pace. Anyhow, it’s a gorgeous old building just be warned. You may not actually see inside the opera hall. We did not which I knew was a risk so I guess I’ll have to come back sometime. Bottom line. I think the staff needs some hospitality training and they need better signage. There are so many tours from private operators and they all were happening at the same time. There were no signs nobody knew where to go, and it just wasn’t overall lackluster experience. A couple of signs could solve a lot of problems, as would better headsets. Next time, I’d book the earliest self guided tour possible to beat the crushing crowds!
