Awesome collection of aircraft
Dyess AFB Memorial Museum and Linear Air Park的点评
点评：The fascinating small museum is located outside the militaey installation and is freely available to access. It tells the story of Dyess AFB and has numerous items on display from priods throughout the airfields history. This is a wonderful small museum in its own right.
We asked about visiting the display of aircraft, which sit just inside the military fascillity. The museums currator (whose name we forget - sorry) explained that he was taking a group at 11 but the tour was full, He however, very kindly, offered to run an extra tour ap 14.00 for us. (Incredibly grateful for this !).
Being British Nationals we were worried that it would be very difficult to gain access, however it was a fairly straightforward process of having our passports checked at the Air Force Guardroom and being escorted onto the unit.
The collection of aircraft is impressive and the curators insight and knowledge of their individual charachteristica and histories is fascinating.
All in all we loved our brief visit to Dyess and the museum curator has our thanks for his help in making it happen.
