Memorable visit to an incredible site, steeped in history at The Royal Citadel.

点评：My wife and I had the greatest of pleasure in being the only 2 people on this particular afternoon's guided tour of The Royal Citadel, Plymouth.
Our guide Janet was totally fantastic. She was incredibly personable, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, witty, respectful and a pleasure to be with for over 2 hours.
The establishment itself is not a great deal to look at from the outside but once inside, it is a total delight and honour to be able to share the history and the premises with the serving marines. The views from the ramparts are wonderful.
The highlight for us (apart from Janet of course ) was the visit to the Chapel where we had a personal audience with the Padre. What a total gentleman and one of the nicest, most empathetic human beings I have ever had the good fortune to meet.
A heart warming chat and discussion with him was the perfect end to a perfect afternoon.
Top Tips! Remember: You can only book tickets online and in advance as tours are very limited as it is a residential, working, military establishment.
Remember: DON'T forget your individual photo ID. You will be refused entry if you forget to bring it with you on the day!
Remember :you have to surrender your phone to be locked away until the tour has finished, so unfortunately, no photos.
