点评：The West Somerset Railway is an exemplar of what a heritage railway should be like. Volunteers are friendly and helpful, all the stations beautifully maintained, with flowers planted, and the trains a pleasure to ride in. There is a well stocked buffet carriage on the train, with particularly pleasant staff. We parked all day in the station car park at Minehead, and before our train left for the round trip to Bishop’s Lydiard were able to enjoy a wander in the town and to explore the station. There was a secondhand book stall on the platform, and a refreshment room, and toilets. We spent a very interesting and worthwhile day travelling on the train. At Bishop’s Lydiard station there was an interesting museum and model railway. It was a pity the engine sheds weren’t open on this particular day. Apparently there are tours on special designated days.
