马蒙坦美术馆的点评
点评：Have been to Paris numerous times over decades and some missed this museum. What a loss. Started the morning at the d’Orsay which continues to be a spectacular museum especially the 5th floor where the Impressionists are located. Even in November though it was absolutely packed. Honestly it makes it more difficult and laborious to really enjoy the museum but I can understand why missing this would be a crime so the numbers of patrons would be difficult to limit.
That being said, the Musee Marmottan Monet was truly a joy. It is in a beautiful neighborhood with families playing football in the park across the street. Just a simple line to buy tickets. No massive line like earlier in the day. The museum is not massive and easy to digest. The lower floor is where all of the Monet’s are located and the variety and volume are significant. The number of people was less than 5% of those of the d’Orsay. It was such a leisure visit with the ability to take pictures simplistic and of such low stress. Obviously is in Monet specific for the most part. Loved it. So relaxing without the pressure of swimming upstream against the crowds to get close to a painting of interest.
The only difficulty was getting there since there were a lot of construction closures on the RER C line so we used Bolt to get from the d’Orsay to this museum for under 7 euros. Would definitely return again and would highly recommended. Enjoy.
