Four paws! Great work with bears
Bear Sanctuary Ninh Binh的点评
点评：I recommend visiting the bear sanctuary to learn about the work that Four Paws and their team is doing to prevent the ill-treatment of bears and the harvesting of bear bile for medicinal purposes.
I went there on a Thursday afternoon and there were only a 6 other guests.
Entry to the sanctuary starts from 50,000VD for the skywalk (basically you get access to view the bears and sanctuary from several others enclosed platforms) and progress up to 150,000 and 250,000VD which includes a dedicated guide and tour of the premises (you get to go into the sanctuary), an overview of the history of bears in Vietnam, key information about some of the bears that are currently at the sanctuary, and an educational video at the end.
The venue is modern and there is a nice vegetarian cafe with a great drink selection. I got an iced coffee and it was amazing! Reasonably priced!
I am staying at a Homestay near the Bai Định Pagoda. It’s about a 20minute drive away. I ended up using a rental scooter to get here and had to drive on dirt roads but still made it. It is recommended that you have a 2WD to get up the road but I saw a lot in d scoters parked up which May have belonged to workers. You can also use Grab and I did run into another couple that got a ride from a Luxury Van and loaded their mountain bikes into the back of it.
I enjoyed it, saw heaps of bears, learnt a lot and felt good about my fees going back into a good cause. It also beats going to the usual tourist places around here and the queues and waiting times to see the same things.
