点评:This place isn’t quite as beautiful as a lot of the online pictures portray (they must’ve been embellished); however, it was still very pretty, and we had a very fun day – it’s totally worth going.
It’s about a 3-hour drive from bangkok. We hired a driver for the day and she was excellent. We stopped at the river kwai bridge on our way there for a quick couple of selfies.
The actual falls are really fun, and with the heat and humidity, it was great to dip in the pools every so often. One online comment suggested going straight up to level 7 as soon as you arrive, and then making your way down slowly, taking in the scenery on the way down, but we found it was just too hot to do this (and we were only there in march). We had to take dips in the pools on the way up just to cool down enough to make the next leg of the trek 😊
Levels 1, 2, and 3 are fairly easy to reach. I’d read online that the most challenging section is between levels 4 and 5, and this was true because there are a LOT of stairs. Between 5 and 6 was also quite challenging because it’s a good long distance. Between 6 and 7 is a fairly short, easy hike. Watch out for the monkeys, and the dumb tourists who are trying to get their attention and take a selfie! These animals can attack so just ignore them. Don’t make eye contact and walk past quickly.
Sliding down the natural rock slides at level 4 was very fun. Remember to get a lifejacket at level 2 if you want to go into any of the pools; there are guards at each level and they do enforce this rule.
