3 hr loop from G City to B River St Park to Fossil Butte National Monument & back to G City.
Both B River & Fossil Butte are FREE!
Both parks offer a junior ranger for kids. Ask the park Ranger at the visitor center. They are given an activity book, they complete multiple activities and then return to the visitor center to receive their badge them a junior ranger. Free programs at both parks.
Trivia: Bear River running through this park is the longest river in the northern hemisphere that does not flow into an ocean.
There is a trail that runs along the river for walking, bike, riding, etc. Several entry points to the actual river for swimming, dogs playing, etc.
You will most likely see a few bison and elk as you go to the park
After leaving the park, also check out the Riverwalk in town. Another opportunity to also see wildlife.
If you are tripping from Garden City, you may want to take advantage of access to a Walmart and cheaper gas 😂
