Art collection filled with works by major artists plus a few surprises!

点评：Happy to make a return visit to Notre Dame campus to visit the Snite Museum of Art (it was closed on our first time on campus a few years back). Only the Atrium lobby, the 18th–21st Century galleries, and the Teaching galleries were open, since the museum is in the midst of a move to the new Raclin Murphy Museum of Art; some galleries and displays had gaps where works had already been moved. That said, there was still enough to keep us interested for more than an hour. From Renaissance to the Modern. Paintings, sculptures, ceramics, glass, and more! I was happy to see works by many familiar American and European artists, including Georgia O'Keeffe. Check out the work Absolution under Fire...both the painting and the artist's story will stick with you! We didn't make it to the Sculpture Park at the edge of campus but did enjoy the adjacent Sculpture Court with its George Rickey kinetic works and David Hayes pieces as well as the Jaume Plensa work at the museum entrance. Hope to return to see the collection in its new art museum home someday!
