Ukkohalla Resort的点评
点评：Where to start?!? We were collected from Kajaani airport by our transfer driver who Ukkohalla use regularly for the 80ish minute drive to the resort. He was very friendly and gave info on the area during the trip, also letting us know he had informed the resort restaurant on our ETA and even though it would be near the ned of service they would wait for us. We were still able to have a full 3 course meal on arrival (included as we were half-board) which we didn't expect due to our arrival time.
During our meal we were given the full itinerary of or planned events and explained how transfers work and contact details etc by the lady who served us and looked after us during the meal (I forget her name but she had red hair) and after our meal she drove us the 3km or so to our Sky Cabin and showed us around it. After she left we began to un-pack and get familiar with the cabin. About 5 mins later we had a knock on the door and it was her again pointing out that the Northern Lights were just starting to show! It's that sort of consideration and kindness we experienced from all the Ukkohalla staff throughout the holiday.
We were collected for breakfast the following day with breakfast being served either in the café or the main restaurant - I assume it depends on the number of guests staying - and met Salla who would be our guide for the day. She drove us to the Snow Mobile Safari location, got us kitted out with snow shoes and cold weather suits and also took us to the reindeer farm and stayed with us during the visit, translating our questions.
Salla was a highlight of our stay due to her infectious personality, love of what she does and the area and genuine interest and friendliness. She really is fantastic and seemed to really enjoy trying to convince me (unsuccessfully!) to do the ice-pool dip!
The resort has multiple indoor saunas, the downstairs one having an amazing view over the lake. There is also an indoor steam-room, jacuzzi and pool with hydro jets. Outside is the fore-mentioned (and successfully avoided, despite Salla's best efforts!) ice pool, more saunas and 2 hot tubs. The outdoor saunas and tubs are not open every day, but the indoor ones are.
For our final day we had a husky sled ride booked in and it was as amazing as we anticipated. The instructor had so much passion for her dogs and was very approachable, friendly and light-hearted. Thoroughly recommended!
So all in all it was an amazing trip, made even more so by every member of staff as they were very accommodating and helpful.
