点评:The "Loch Ness, Glencoe & The Highlands from Glasgow" is one of the worst experiences I've had traveling in my life. Long post, but the summary points are:
1) Unpunctual
2) Huge group size for the same price of competitor's smaller groups
3) Lack of commentary
4) Tour did not follow itinerary
5) Deer feeding in some private property
6) No music, no warnings regarding road conditions.
1) Unpunctual. The tour started late, we received an email indicating a change in itinerary from 8:00am to 7:30am and that we should be at the meeting place at 7:15am. We thought it was great news, as we'd enjoy more sunlight. Nevertheless, the bus was late, arriving at 7:31am and making us wait for more than 15 minutes at low temperatures.
2) Huge group size. Even though the price is comparable to other, potentially better, competitors, the tour size was huge with 31 in the group. Competitors (Rabbies, for example) have tours with the same price and maximum 17 people, the only reason you should consider booking with this Bush is if no one else has bookings available, although in that case I'd suggest not even trying with this bush.
3) Lack of commentary. I wanna think that this tour was some sort of improvisation and we got just a random driver instead of a properly trained tour guide, because the only commentary provided along the road was "This is University of Glasgow with 30000 students", thank you, I guess. In general, it felt like we paid +£60 for just a very long ride in a bus. The driver never mentioned what was next on the itinerary, where we were headed, how long the drive would take. Except for one occasion we're he warned us that the next to bathroom was two hours away.
4) The tour didn't follow the itinerary. Because of the lack of commentary, you wouldn't know this unless you're actively checking in Google maps where you are. We were supposed to stop at Glencoe, which we didn't, save for a ~5 minute stop for a photo somewhere else. Lunch was supposed to be (according to the website itinerary) in Fort William, which also didn't happen; instead, we had lunch in Fort Augustus. There wasn't any commentary in any of these places, why is this place called Augustus? What happened in Glencoe? We dashed past Ben Nevis, but again, no commentary about it.
5) Deer feeding. Somewhere before Fort Augustus, the coach randomly stopped at the parking lot of a hotel to invite the tourists to feed a couple of deers that were next to the parking lot (See photos). Something not only inappropriate and harmful to the wildlife, but also forbidden according to at least two signs on the way to the parking lot.
6) There was no music, nothing related to Christmas, and not even warnings regarding road conditions. One poor passenger had to beg for the bus to stop, so she could throw up next to the road. After she recovered, the driver nonchalantly offered her paper bags. Compare this to a competitor like Rabbies that warned passengers beforehand of road conditions and offered sitting at at the front seat to mitigate any possible effects.
In conclusion, this was a horrendous experience that makes me wonder how Timberbush has such high ranking in trust pilot and will ensure that I'll never even consider booking a tour with this company.
