点评:Absolutely gorgeous gardens. We went specifically to see the Japanese Garden and new little about whatever else there may have been here, so discovering the Italian Garden, the Wooded Valley, and the Rock and Water Garden was a very pleasant bonus... all very different, unique in their own right, and wonderful to experience.
An interesting shop with variety of relevant items and a welcome cafe (apparently award-winning but I couldn't see why, but a nice cafe all the same) rounded off the visit.
A couple of minor negatives - signage, and signage. I used Google Maps to find Compton Acres and it told me I was there. But even then I wasn't sure that I hadn't parked in a private residences or hotel car park. Having parked and whilst still trying to find the entrance I still wasn't sure I was there and I double checked Google Maps again using the link from the Compton Acres website this time. The only thing that made me believe we'd found it was the cafe I'd read about on the website, and even that was behind a high-walled gated entrance, and still no sign of the gardens.
The entrance and pay booth is actually through the cafe courtyard and then the shop area beyond it. I was beginning to think we'd missed the pay booth and that somehow we were in the attraction without having paid before we eventually stumbled on the payment desk. Knowing where you are and where you're going was quite confusing for us as first time visitors and in my view could definitely be improved upon by the attraction.
