Early Spring Garden Visit

点评：We had a very enjoyable visit to the gardens at Compton Acres. Although the gardens may be better viewed during the later spring and summer months there was still plenty to see in terms of flora and sculptures. We loved the wooded valleys and walks and found the gardens very tranquil and were a peaceful place to sit a while and take in the gardens and views across Poole Harbour. There were plenty of seats & benches around the gardens to take a rest on and the paths were good and, for those less able, there were easier routes through the gardens if you didn't want to take the slightly tricker routes! The formal Italian and Japanese gardens were beautiful whilst the sculptures and art work on display added to the visit. It was a lovely oasis of calm set in an urban environment and was a great place to lose yourself in for a couple of hours or more. The gardens are dog friendly but they need to be on leads at all times. There is a nice cafe for you to refresh yourself in and a shop & nursery for you to indulge in some retail therapy if you so wish. There is a large free car park, although it was very busy on the day, and we had a bit of a struggle to find a space but got there in the end!
