点评:There are dozens of cookie cutter winery tours - but this was a whole different experience. We took the all-day wineries tour from Florence. Our host, Luciana, came from a family who came to Florence in the 1300s, and right from the start, it was clear we were in for a treat. We spent the day racing through the green valleys and cobblestoned towns, picking out hidden gems - Machiavelli's birthplace here, Vespucci's family home there - and learning so much about the real history of the region.
She took us to two beautiful family vineyards, where we were treated like family too - sitting with the dog, getting course after course of impactful Chianti wines while munching on artichokes and cheese made on site. Maurizio Brogioni's vineyard was so special I felt like we made a friend. Then, we snuck through towns that felt trapped in the Medieval times, stopping at this outstanding butcher, where we learned so much about the incredible food artistry of the region. We really appreciated meeting locals at each stop and hearing their stories.
Logistics were easy: flawless pick-up, everything as described, lots of personal attention. Also - a lot of wine/food tours try to push you to buy at the sites. This tour never did: I consider that really important. I also love that it's a woman-owned small business rather than some big, soulless outfit. Luciana always made sure we were happy, and we are already planning our next trip back to go with her to Volterra.
