点评:We were a bit dubious about visiting this National Park (it being part of the tour package that had been arranged for us.) We were told that part of the park would be inaccessible to visitors due to the fact that the Nilgiri Tahr were currently breeding and so it did concern us that the whole visit would be pointless.
In actual fact due to part of the park being closed this meant that few people were visiting & so instead of having to be transported through the park on a crowded public transport type bus, we travelled in a golf buggy.
The scenery was spectacular with vast tea plantations and various species of flora & fauna. We saw ladies picking tea in the distance, and also caught glimpses of black monkeys and a massive squirrel.
We had a very pleasant park warden accompany us, who seemed passionate about the local wildlife (but sadly due to our lack of knowledge of each others language we couldn't converse!)
We walked/climbed the last part up to a viewing platform. Sadly we didn't see any of the goat type animals, but we enjoyed seeing the beautiful green hills.
On returning to the park entrance we enjoyed supporting the conservation work there by spending money in the gift shop 😀
